Utopia and Dystopia

These were both done for a digital drawing class, our Professor having asked us to create our own personal Dystopia and then Utopia. For me, Dystopia would mean having achieved many things and yet being lonely, but my idea of Utopia is fairly simple-love.

Self Portraits

I often view self portraits as exercises in observational drawing, sometimes fitting in a quick charcoal sketch just to stay sharp. Two of these are actually digital line drawings done a year apart, and the other is a charcoal drawing I did hungover while wrapped in a sheet and looking in a mirror. I find it interesting that they all look more or less like me, and yet so different from one another.
